Preliminary Task: Case Study Of a Publishing House

The Title Music Magazine I chose is called Music Mags. However my reason for choosing this is because, the logo drew my attention first than the others, and also another reason for choosing this is because without exploring the site you sought of have an idea on what the site is about.

The Music Magazines, that this company has published are, Jazz Times, Sound on Sound, Music Connection, Half Time, The Beatles, Finger Style, Drum Head, Drum, and Bass Player.

Analysing the music magazine website, and also looking at the types of music magazines they have produced, you sought of have an idea on their target audience. However, we can clearly see that their target audience is not only aimed at maybe music musicians, But aimed at normal people who love and play instruments, or who are in music bands already and play a specific instrument. I believe that their thoughts on choosing their target audience have been carefully and wisely thought about because, even though they have a specific target audience, they have made it in a way that their target audience is aimed more broadly, because of the way they have produced their music magazines. Moreover even though their magazines are all about music instruments, the most instrument I see featured is the guitar. My reasons for saying this is because, mostly when you look at musicians(Rock Bands) guitar is the key instrument played or used. However going back to the point for my reason of saying they have thought about their target audience properly. Maybe is to also attract rock people to the magazines to extend the target audience any maybe to make their magazines more recognisable and more popular.

On the site on their other business interest apart from making music magazines. They give out tips on how to sell your magazine online. Also how to make it more interesting for you consumers, for example keeping your magazine neat. Also making sure your your new shipments get stocked right away, or magazines are at a high-turn product, refreshed with every new issue.
