Induction Movie poster Textual Analysis

Looking at this Indiana Jones film poster. In class we had analyse the different techniques that was used in this image. The first thing I looked at was the use of costume and how it was represented. In this film poster the first thing you notice is an image, this is done to allow the audience to know who the main focus of this film is going to be about. because we don't see any other image apart from the one you see now. However this has been done effectively because it wants the audience to be drawn into this charaecter. we see for example the charecter is seen as a worrier becuase he's wearing a hat and t-shirt and has opend the first three buttons on his shirt moreover his clothes look abit old and dirty this is to show that the charecter has been through alot to become the hero. Moving on to the use of propps we see symbols such as, whip witch connotes a worrier and the gun at the side of his pocket.

Looking at the non verbal communication, his body gesture is seen as bold, confidncent, adventures, because he has his chest out and his facial expression shows he is ready for any adventure. Also shows a little grin on his face. This shows that we know in the film that he is the hero.

What you can see at the surroudings we see a theme of coloures such as orange and black, the colour orange conntoes fire, dangour. Also the black dark colour represnents also danjour. Moreover the lighting at the top shows bright orange as you go down you see darkness to show seroiusness. This shows that man is brave because the fire and darkness is all going on behind him this connotes that he is powerful he controlls the dangers. Also looking at text it looks like comedy cartoonish, witch connotes that thier is little comedy in the film. Also another thing that we see is at the surroudings is a scul made up of fire to show that thier is going to be some killing and death.

Induction Re-creating of a movie magazine front cover

In class, we had our first session using Photoshop,we were giving the task to create a movie magazine front cover from the film King Kong. When I first used Photoshop for this task,I struggled to complete the full task because it been so long I used Photoshop, so I was not so familiar with the tools I had to use. Also, I had forgotten most of the techniques that I was thought In my previous school.

The difficulties that I faced in doing this task, At one point I forgot were the text tool bar was, however playing around with Photoshop I started to become little confident, remembered were the basic tools were for example the colour bucket, eraser, and the cropping bar. Another challenge that I faced, was getting the Masthead to go behind the image, I was not to sure on the technique I had to use to place it behind the image.

One of the strengths I was able to overcome was acutely creating my poster. Also using the right colours for the cover lines. looking at the font size I was also able to get mostly all the right size to make it look like the real thing, even though I was not able to download fonts from the internet that suited the same film magazine.

However even though I was not to able to complete this task, to a high standard, I was still able to make it look similar to the original image.
